Solidarity Initiative

INTRODUCING OUR SOLIDARITY INITIATIVE

At Medicine, we believe that festival culture should be a place of belonging, care and shared humanity, and that access to intentional gathering spaces is not currently equal. We recognise that systemic and structural inequalities shape who feels able, welcome, or resourced enough to attend festivals, and that without active intervention these imbalances keep being repeated.

With this in mind, we are launching the Medicine Solidarity Initiative, through which we will be offering free tickets (for the person plus a guest) and additional support (for food and travel) to people who would not normally have the opportunity to attend Medicine.

THIS MAY INCLUDE:

Disadvantaged young people

People from BIPOC communities

Refugees and recent migrants

Oppressed groups

THIS INITIATIVE OPERATES THROUGH A NOMINATION PROCESS ONLY.

Nominations can be made by individuals or organisations for people they feel would genuinely benefit from the experience of attending Medicine – whether for rest, connection, inspiration, healing, or a sense of belonging.

NOMINATE SOMEONE HERE

We recognise that marginalised communities often encounter additional barriers, financial and otherwise, that make access to these spaces more difficult. While bursary tickets are not a solution to increasing inclusivity, we hope they can be one small step toward welcoming a wider range of lived experiences into this gathering.

At the festival, we also have dedicated care, wellbeing and support spaces and a trained team on site. We work intentionally to ensure that everyone who attends the festival feels safe, welcomed and supported through their time at Medicine. We are also continuing to work on other barriers to inclusivity in our preparations, and we warmly welcome feedback, reflections, and suggestions as part of that ongoing process.
