WEAVING FUTURES GATHERING IN NAMIBIA

In September 2025  a co-organised two-week summit of Indigenous minority representatives from each continent was held in Namibia to share their wisdom on environmental resilience and the well-being of humans and other species in the era of digital and other complex transformations.

The aim of the gathering was to facilitate the sharing of valuable Indigenous knowledge and to create strong alliances between Indigenous communities across the globe, to develop strategies to tackle local and global challenges and to deliberate on new forms of more inclusive and pluralistic modes of knowledge creation and dissemination.

Beyond individual shifts, the gathering birthed a collective manifesto. Through roundtable dialogues, participants moved between circles of discussion, sharing knowledge and seeking solutions to pressing issues. These conversations celebrated the wealth of Indigenous languages, traditions, territories, and ways of life while also revealing strikingly similar challenges across continents. The manifesto that emerged is both a prayer and a plan—a testament to the strength of alliances that can be woven across oceans to support communities and amplify Indigenous voices.
