On Sunday August 9th, 2020 Medicine Festival teamed up with our friends at Aniwa to co-create
a very special one day online gathering to mark the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples,
and to celebrate the beauty and diversity of indigenous cultures from around the world.
We were joined by relatives from fifteen indigenous traditions who generously shared
their wisdom, languages, stories, healing songs, prayers and teachings.
We are delighted that you are able to receive these blessings and
wisdom teachings today by watching the 6 part video series below.
To honour the elders and acknowledge the importance of reciprocity for the sacred offerings they share with us, we ask that you give as much as you can in return for watching the 6 part video series, or as little as £8.
Right now, the Amazon is on fire. 100% of all donations go directly to the Wisdom Keepers who gathered to bring healing to our world and humanity at this crucial time. All funds raised benefit the community projects they are involved with to help their indigenous cultures thrive.
Donations made are funnelled to The Boa Foundation.
At the request of the Elders –
Please do not reproduce or share these copyrighted videos.

Many indigenous communities have retained their ancestral knowledge, understanding and methods for taking care of forests, plants, seeds, crops, water sources and mineral resources in sustainable ways. Their harmonious way of life is based on the stewardship of nature.
They are truly the last guardians of our planet’s fast disappearing biodiversity, and the most precious guides we have to teach us and help us remember how to preserve and protect life on Earth now, and for future generations.
Medicine Festival and Aniwa co-created this event to raise awareness about the lives of our indigenous relatives, to inspire action to help protect them and their territories from the constant threats they face from the damaging extractive industries (gas, mineral and oil mining), loss of land due to clearance for logging, industrial scale crops and cattle ranches, man-made forest fires and Climate Change, and to fundraise in support of their wellbeing, and their rights to live safely with the land as their ancestors always have.
In this critical time amidst a global pandemic we also see indigenous communities decimated in disproportionate rates, and so we invite you to open your heart and kindly donate whatever you can to raise vital funds with us to help the on-the-ground community projects, forest fire and Covid relief efforts led by the honoured Wisdom Keepers and Elders who were featured in this event.
Medicine Festival and Aniwa would like to honour the tremendous gifts bestowed on us in the global north by the sovereign indigenous communities throughout the world, and thank them for leading humanity back to a way of life based on principles of harmony, egalitarianism, love and peace, and for sharing instructions for how we can protect Mother Earth and live well, in a good relationship with her, ourselves and all living beings.
Your support helps indigenous communities strengthen their resilience so they can maintain their way of life and continue their vital work of caring for the delicate ecosystems of the world’s flora and fauna, and help to safeguard their languages and keep their irreplaceable knowledge alive.
Thank you so much for being part of this global family!
